I like Mike. Here’s why!
The Lieutenant Governor is the President of the Nevada Senate. Mike has eight years of experience serving in the State Senate and was unanimously elected by his peers to lead the Republican Caucus for the last six. His opponent has no legislative experience.
The Lieutenant Governor also helps drive economic development and promote tourism in Nevada. Mike has been a champion of tourism for many years and supported legislation to grow this critical industry in Nevada. And as a state Senator, Mike has been at the center of the biggest economic development deals made over the last eight years, working with our current Governor, Brian Sandoval, and his Office of Economic Development. Mike will need no on-the-job training to understand the state’s economic development plans. His opponent has been out of office since 2014 and was never a leader in economic development when in office.
Mike has been a central, driving force behind improving Nevada’s education system. He passed legislation that would increase teacher pay, as well as the bill that sent funds directly to programs that have resulted in smaller class sizes in the state’s school system.
In addition to funding those two important measures, Mike led the legislative charge to develop Zoom and Victory Schools and Achievement School Districts. These programs are directed at students who need the most help. He made sure that the vast majority of the funds for these programs ended it up in the classroom, where they belong and have the greatest impact on students.
Mike helped pass legislation that enabled Uber & Lyft to operate in Nevada, helping improve the quality of life for locals and ensuring that Nevada remains a competitive tourist destination. It also created thousands of flex-time jobs, and Uber is now the largest employer of veterans in the state.
Mike is dedicated to ensuring that Nevadans have better healthcare. As a state Senator, Mike helped ensure that the UNLV School of Medicine was funded to help Southern Nevada produce and retain more doctors to fill the shortage of doctors. He continues to use his influence to try to bring more medical residencies to Nevada, so our state will be more attractive to doctors.
Mike is also committed to making sure that Nevadans have better access to existing healthcare. He was the first elected official to support Governor Brian Sandoval’s Medicaid expansion, which has significantly reduced the number of Nevadans who go without healthcare coverage.
For those of us who know the job, virtually all of us support Mike’s campaign to be Nevada’s next Lieutenant Governor. Mike is supported by:
- Governor Brian Sandoval,
- Attorney General Adam Laxalt,
- Former Lieutenant Governors Brian Krolicki, Lorraine Hunt-Bono, Lonnie Hammargren, and Bob Cashell, and
- Me—current Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison
Mike Roberson has spent his time in public service working diligently to make Nevada a better state. He has been bipartisan and inclusive in those efforts, forging compromise that brings the best ideas from everyone involved.
I’m voting for Michael Roberson because he has the experience, talent, and skill to be a great Lieutenant Governor for Nevada, and he has earned my support. I hope that you’ll join me in voting for Mike.
Lieutenant Governor of Nevada
